| | Description | By engaging and listening to young people within their own school or youth club setting, DEAL is able to identify areas of need and concern they may have around health, drug and alcohol issues, and work with them to explore these areas in more detail. By starting at the level of the people they are working with, in terms of their knowledge and experiences, they are able to develop appropriate responses designed to extend awareness and understanding and empower young people. Activities are often drama based or involve the production of CD's and videos such as 'Smacked Up' and 'Cooking with Gas'. A full range of resources is available from The DEAL Project. It is hoped to offer some treatments for young people in the future such as Auricular Acupuncture.
DEAL also undertakes Outreach work, visiting youth clubs and going to meet young people and hand out information at various community events in the Borough. Primarily working with young people including they can also provide a range of training programmes for staff and parents.
