| Description |
County wide youth service, substance misuse is part of the agenda and is delivered to all Youth Centres . A key part of the Youth Work Curriculum is the delivery of information and advice on substance misuse to young people.
The service offers young people the opportunity to take part in Youth Forums, Youth Parliaments, and schemes such as the Duke of Edinburgh Awards and Millennium Volunteers.
The service also offers a Peer Education package, drugs training for young people so that they can deliver drugs education to other young people.
As well as being able to give general information and advice, the service can also work with young people on a one to one basis offering harm reduction advice and signposting to other agencies.
They have a programme of staff training in substance misuse which is in its fourth year of operation. Training takes place at various venues throughout the county so that staff can access their local centre. |
