| | Description | Birmingham’s Health Education unit is staffed by experienced consultants, many of whom have teaching backgrounds. The team is complimented by a school nurse, a dietician and police sergeant. The consultants are able to support and assist schools in all aspects of PHSE, Citizenship, Child Protection, and Sex and relationship education.
There are 4 consultants specialising in drug education, drug prevention and dealing with drug related incidents.
A range of resources have been produced and are available for schools to use, details of which are listed on the website.
The unit also promotes the Birmingham Healthy School Standard and will assist schools in achieving this standard across all the main themes of citizenship, drugs, alcohol and tobacco, emotional health and well-being, healthy eating, physical activity, safety and sex and relationship education. | | Staff Profile | | 18 consultants work for the unit, with 4 specialising in Drug education, prevention and drug related incidents | | Linked Organisations | | The unit works closely with the Birmingham Health Authority and NHS Health Promotion England.
