| | Description | | The project has 17 flats and the 17 residents are supported in all aspects of live skills, including health and finance, by 4 P.A.'s. They work with each resident to get them into education, training or employment. The time a resident stays at First Base can vary from several weeks to several months. There is a strong emphasis on personal developement and taking part in social activities such as Theatre visits, food evenings, driving theory tuition which are arranged throughout the year. Staff receive drug awareness training from the DAT and are able to deliver Tier 1 advice and information to residents. Posters and literature from FRANK are also available and residents requiring further information or help are referred to Addaction. The centre also has a cyber cafe, conference facilities and office accommodation which are all available to the wider community. | | Mission Statement | | First Base Walsall is an interdenominational Christian Charity, that principally caters for the needs of young people that are homeless or in housing need, and aged between 16 - 25. First Base Walsall encompasses basic Christian principles in alleviating poverty associated with homelessness, promoting education and encouraging independence.' | | Objectives | | Our working ethos: 'The Christian ethos of First Base recognises the importance of privacy, the right to hold opinions/beliefs, and the right to be treated fairly and equally.
