| Description |
Cycling project for 8 - 13 yr olds covering basic maintenance and road safety. The project includes bike rides out to various places of interest including the Peak District. Attendance is once a week for 4 weeks.
14 - 16 year olds are taught basic motor mechanics and road safety within the workshop, attendance is from 1 to 3 days a week, whilst the 16 + age group can take part in banger racing and stock car racing at various tracks including Birmingham Wheels, Hednesford Raceway and as far afield as Essex.
Driving lessons and training for the theory and hazard perception test are available for those over the age of 17.
Various off-road activities and Holiday Schemes for young people of different ages are also offered with occasional residential weekends.
If any young person attending the project requires information about drugs they are referred to DEAL (Drugs, Empowerment, Action and Learning) which is based in the same building, so advice and trained counsellors are available for direct and instant referrals. |
