Method of Access: Connexions is an open access service with a focus on targeting those most in need. Referrals are also taken.
| | Description | As part of the Connexions Birmingham and Solihull partnership. Birmingham Connexions has PA's deployed in a variety of organisations and settings including the DAT, Teenage Pregnancy Unit, Youth Offending Service, Social Services and the Youth Service. They also have 3 Substance Misuse PA's based at HIAH, the local young people's service.
In 2003, over 120 PA's were trained in drug and alcohol awareness equipping them to work at a Tier one level. They work on a 1:1 basis with their clients building up relationships and offering support and guidance needed by young people as they grow and make the transition to adult life.
