| The service is undergoing restructuring changes to develop two teams of PA's, an educational team dealing with 13 - 19 yr olds and a community team for the 16-19 year olds who have left full time education. All PA's are trained in drug awareness skills to deliver tier 1 support and information. PA's work with young people to engage them in activities to aid personal development. They are developing expertise in the area of substance misuse and will look for agreement with the client to involve other professionals in helping them with any misuse issues they may have. It is hoped to be able to provide diversionary activities under the Positive about Young People scheme, and PA's are assisting with the setting up of an alternative curriculum and activities for those pupils at risk of exclusion. |
