Method of Access: Young people access the substance misuse workers via schools, colleges, self referral and via Connexions PA’s.
| | Description | Two specialist substance misuse advisors are employed in the county and work alongside generic PA's, all of whom have had basic drugs awareness training.
The Substance misuse workers offer targeted interventions with groups of vulnerable young people and occasional 1:1 work. If a young person shows substance dependency on alcohol or opiates, or their level of use has led to a disintegrated lifestyle then a referral will be made to the Young Persons Substance Misuse Team.
