| Description |
All generic PA's have basic drugs awareness training so they are able to work with young people with substance misuse issues; they also have access to online training through MerciaNet Training.
If a young person requires counselling they will be referred to one of the two specialist substance misuse PA's who are deployed within ZigZag, the Herefordshire Young People's service. The substance misuse workers offer counselling, give advice and information and will work with all the other agencies involved with the young person such as the GP and Social Services. Outreach work at a tier 2 level forms most of their work. All PA's have access to further specialist services for anyone experiencing difficulties at home or at school. |
