Method of Access: HIAH is an open access service which means that any young person can refer themselves. Any agency that works with young people can also refer individuals. The service actively targets Looked After Children and Homeless Young People.
| | Description | A new service for the treatment of young people aged 18 years old and under, who are affected by drugs, alcohol or solvents.
HIAH tackles both emotional and social factors when dealing with young people and has an emphasis on counselling and alternative therapies.
They have a Bail and Remand Drugs worker within the Birmingham Youth Offending Team to whom all young people will be referred to.
The service is able to offer stabilisation and detox support, harm reduction advice, and relapse prevention education.
When felt necessary, mental health assessments can be undertaken.
Connexions advisors are on hand for help with education and training.
Complementary Therapies such as Reflexology, Shiatsu, Acupuncture and Indian Head Massage are also very popular.
HIAH also undertakes outreach work in the community and will organsise a range of activities.
The opening hours are as follows:
Monday - 9.30am to 5.00pm
Tuesday - 9.30am to 8.30pm
Wednesday - 9.30am to 5.00pm
Thursday - 9.30am to 8.30pm
Friday - 9.30am to 4.00pm
