It has been funded by the WM Government Office Drug
Strategy Team and developed by Amundsen Consulting in partnership with web designers
from Alton8 Ltd.
The aim of the website is to disseminate information
on what is available to young people in the hope that it will:
The database is not limited to well established
projects but includes those that are new and under development. It is not
designed to offer “best practice” and the inclusion of a project on the
database should not be seen as an endorsement by Government Office.
The region currently receives 5.6 million pounds
from the Government to support substance misuse related activities and services for
young people. Given that there are 14 Drug Action Teams, that funding translates into
a large number of projects.
Timescales and budget constraints have prevented
us from being able to capture information on every single project. However, it
is hoped that projects not currently included will email me with their details
so that we can add them to the site during future updates.
I would like to thank all those (too numerous to
mention) who have helped in some way to turn the vision into a reality.
I hope all visitors to the site will find
something useful to take away and I look forward to hearing from those of you
who have something to put in!
